Celesteal Clark’s first revelation with mindfulness came from an education of how and who her food came from after watching the Marisa Miller Wolfson documentary Vegucated. This lead to a pledge of full love and compassion for all creatures, in the form of a plant-based diet. The second one came with an appreciation of nature, and an awareness that others did not share that same respect, leading to another pledge to provide a voice for the health of the environment. This is being manifested as a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies, a Sustainability minor, and a GIS certificate at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. There she is co-leader of the Student Environmental Coalition where they facilitate Missouri River clean-ups and other group volunteer environmental activities. As her favorite Sanskrit mantra states, Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu or May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.
